AWAKEN (UCSD Theatre & Dance) - Choreographer

AWAKEN utilizes dance, projections, and lighting to explore the idea of being the only one “awake” in a nightmarish vision. This piece aims to engulf the audience in this non-tangible world by allowing them to witness the exploration of a fake reality.

As opposed to a more typical process in which choreography is set, followed by the addition of technical elements, this piece was crafted in collaboration and driven by experimentation.

Newsies (Scripps Theatre Arts) - Choreographer

Based on the Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies follows Jack Kelly, an artist who dreams of life away from a big city, as he leads his fellow newsies on a strike for fair wages. This energetic and empowering show utilizes dance as a way of emphasizing the power of a united group.

Entr'acte (UCSD Theatre & Dance) - Co-Director/Co-Choreographer

An ensemble piece done as part of UCSD’s New Directions dance show, Entr’acte was influenced by the continuation of the pandemic.

Entr’acte, meaning “between two acts” encourages us to remain hopeful while acknowledging the detriment of this time and the impact it has had on artists. This piece was Inspired by the feeling of being between two pivotal points in the pandemic: the beginning when everyone was quarantined at home and the hopeful end where we are free from the restrictions.

Seize the Day (UCSD Theatre & Dance) - Director/Choreographer

Done as part of UCSD’s New Directons dance show and inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, Seize the Day is a musical theatre piece reminding us that despite being socially distanced, we don't have to be creatively distanced. This piece is inspired by its title, encouraging us to Seize the Day and come together and dance to put on a show.
